The uses of Isotroin ( Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, Sotret,
Generic Isotretinoin ) include: Treating severe acne in patients
who do not respond to other medicines. Isotretinoin is a form
of vitamin A. It reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands
in your skin, and helps your skin renew itself more quickly. Isotretinoin
is used to treat severe nodular acne. It is usually given after
other acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried without successful
treatment of symptom. Isotretinoin a chemical cousin of vitamin
A, is prescribed for the treatment of severe, disfiguring cystic
acne that has not cleared up in response to milder medications
such as antibiotics. It works on the oil glands within the skin,
shrinking them and diminishing their output. You take Isotretinoin
by mouth every day for several months, then stop. The antiacne
effect can last even after you have finished your course of medication.
Isotretinoin (eye-soe-TRET-i-noyn) is used to treat severe, disfiguring
nodular acne. It should be used only after other acne medicines
have been tried and have failed to help the acne.
